Damian is a Chartered Accountant and Lawyer and has specialised in Indirect Taxation consulting for more than 17 years, with a particular focus on VAT/GST issues both domestically in Australia and around the world. His current practice, Damian Welshe & Associates, operates as a registered Tax Agent in Australia, and he is also a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a member of its National GST Committee which liaises with the Australian Taxation Office and Commonwealth Treasury on policy matters and interpretational issues. Prior to setting up his current practice in 2005, Damian ran the Queensland Indirect Tax consulting practices of PricewaterhouseCoopers and a top tier law firm now known as King & Wood Mallesons, and his time with PricewaterhouseCoopers included a year on secondment in its London office.
