Partner, Tax Randy Robason is National Managing Partner of the firm’s Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services Practice, as well as the U.S. International Tax Practice, and is located in the Dallas office of Grant Thornton. With more than 36 years of diverse business, financial and tax consulting experience, including 26 years in key leadership roles, he has served in key client service leadership roles for companies from the Fortune 100 to the Carolina Panthers. He has served as Global Managing Director of Private Client Services where he built and ran a $300 million net revenue, 1,200-person, multinational group offering family wealth planning services, investment advisory services and tax and financial services both domestically and internationally. Randy was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of a 350-person, national, New York-based wealth and tax advisory consulting service company prior to joining Grant Thornton LLP in August 2004. Industry experience As a CPA, MBA and attorney, Randy has been quoted in many publications, including The New York Times, American Banker, Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Telegram and Charlotte Business Journal. He has appeared frequently on radio and television, speaks often throughout the U.S., and writes for industry journals on a wide variety of topics.

In order to launch the concept successfully, identified key financial services firms prepared to invest in the Company. Met with 10 firms including UBS, Merrill Lynch and Citigroup, selected finalists and struck a deal with HSBC.
Created the strategic vision, acquisition and implementation of all items necessary to run the business (office leasing, accounting systems, etc.), developed client service delivery methodology, regulatory compliance, and other areas benefiting a profitable growth strategy.
Set up offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Washington, DC, West Palm Beach, Charlotte and Newport Beach, CA and recruited more than 200 experts from the major accounting firms, law firms and financial institutions to deliver the services.

Result: Within two years of launch and after having shown HSBC that the concept was successful and that first class professional management was now in place, negotiated an exit package (payout of contract) to allow me to move into new directions and find a new challenge.
