- Brought in as a “change leader” to turnaround tax function. Led a collaborative project to reform processes, technology and people that were part of (or supporting) tax products and calculations. Moved financial statements out of “significant deficiency” status with improved use of technology and controls. Led cross functional team to rebuild tax function that included financial reporting, investments, internal control, human resources, legal and accounting groups.

- Responsible for Wall Street, banking and investor relations, as well as raising capital and managing the capital structure. Also responsible for risk management, tax compliance and planning, credit and collections, working capital management and strategic planning areas. Responsible for capital and legal structure. Key member of acquisition and divestiture teams.
- Raising, structuring and negotiating debt and capital instruments to fit the changing needs of the company. Issued bonds, convertible debt and bank debt to fuel growth. Issued bonds, restructured bank debt and more than fifteen amendments to create defensive structure during lean results. Executed and maintained securitizations and asset based borrowing, as well as traditional bank lines. This represented more than $3 billion of transactions.
- Led creation of international cash structure focused on full repatriation with minimal or no withholding or tax cost.
- Played key role in investor relations, supporting and standing in for CFO. Managed banking and debtor relationships, spoke at numerous investors conferences and quarterly conference calls. Participated in “road shows” for debt and equity. Led rating agency relationships.
- Led consolidation of cash management functions from over 100 locations to centralization at corporate headquarters.
- Reduced legal structure from 85 to 20 legal entities.
- Credit policy and manual creation. Reengineered payables and collection policies, leading to over $80 million of cash flow recovery.

Served mid-market to large corporate clients. Part of leadership team that saw the Denver office double in size during my tenure. Served over 40 publicly traded companies. Lead partner on office’s largest corporate client. As lead partner, participated in the providing of audit, merger and acquisition and employee benefit services.
- Assisted with initial public offerings, negotiations and structuring associated with mergers and acquisitions and debt, analysis of leasing and receivable arrangements, management of effective tax rates and implementation of tax deferral strategies.
- Media appearances and representation of Deloitte. Over a dozen television appearances and quoted in several dozen articles. Initiated the “Fast 50” program in Denver, recognizing the fastest growing companies on the Front Range.
