Responsible for the overall administration of 7,000-member professional association of in-house tax professionals. Duties includes —
♦ Maintaining close working relationships with federal, state, and provincial tax officials
♦ Building relationships with Chief Tax Officers and other in-house tax professionals to expand TEI’s membership, programs, and services
♦ Active participation in TEI’s advocacy program, including drafting or editing, congressional testimony, amicus briefs, and comments on legislation, regulations, and rulings; and participating meetings with Congress, Treasury Department, IRS, and counterparts in the States, Canada, and in Europe
♦ Managing $6.5 million budget and staff of 18, including Chief Tax Counsel and three attorneys
♦ Overseeing network of 55 local chapters, as well as operations of 70+ member Board of Directors and 11-person Executive Committee
♦ Recruiting and coaching cadre of volunteer leaders
♦ Developing and managing successful sponsorship and royalty programs
♦ Assisting in planning and managing educational programs
♦ Managing TEI’s publications, as well as its online “TEI News Feed” and TEI’s LinkedIn group
♦ Editor, Tax Executive magazine
