The 46th Annual TEI Canadian Tax Conference will be held in Gatineau Quebec on May 6-9, 2012.
Carmine Arcari (Canadian Income Tax Committee Chair), Kim Berjian (Canadian Commodity Tax Committee Chair) and Bonnie Dawe (CITC Vice-Chair) have just put the finishing touches on this year's program and the impressive list of speakers, presenters and topics should make it another great technical development and networking opportunity for our members. We hope to have the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of National Revenue, and Justice Stephen D'Arcy of the Tax Court speak at our two luncheon sessions.
In addition, we will have our regular CRA and Finance update panels, many topical technical sessions, and another fantastic themed Tuesday evening gala where we can network with our government colleagues and renew acquaintances with our friends from across the country. At the gala, we plan to present TEI's Distinguished Service Awards to Wayne Adams, Gerry Lalonde and possibly one other well known recently retired CRA official, to recognize their respective excellent contributions to public service in Canada and their promotion of effective relationships between government and TEI.
Also something new for this year, we have organized a special cocktail reception for Monday evening in Ottawa hosted by Osler and EY.
